![]() The songs really do fit the mood, a soulless hellscape somewhere in the mind of a Jim Davis in catharsis after killing 5 people with an ax. The soundtrack is one of the better parts of the game. Also look forward to bunching up and immediately falling to sixth when you get knocked. On that matter, the whole catch-up mechanic that makes Mario Kart fun until the end is nonexistent for human players. The AI isn't awful, but the game gives them such a huge advantage that they're hardly worth measuring yourself against. I think they're okay, definitely above average when it comes to Mario Kart clones but there are still frustrating moments. Not like you should buy this game for the graphics.Ĭontrols feel a bit *hmmmm* sometimes. The cartoon style can be a bit of an eyesore sometimes but overall it's just meh. Specifically speaking on graphics, this game has them. It's competitive, friendly, and not totally tech-exhausted quite yet. I'll agree with my mans HankSuplecks in saying that the speedrun community is generally the most interesting thing this game has to offer. I think this game still has value though, it's fun to play in multiplayer (if you get lucky and it works without issue) with your friends, and has some decent meme value. ![]() The game feels a bit empty once you've gone through all the cups and played a few challenges. It does the Garfield brand proud, but that's a low bar to hit. This is a mostly alright Mario Kart (Crash Team Racing?) clone. An honest opinion from someone who's played the game for a fat minute:

![]() Select and wait for it to copy the maps (takes a minute or so). Put the SD card in your computer’s SD card slot. When complete, you can remove the SD card and turn the chartplotter off. Open Garmin HomePort on the computer and choose the correct chart. You have to use the card every time - there is no way to copy the charts to the hard drive and have HomePort read them from there. What is listed as “Global Map” is very low res don’t use it. If there is more than one other chart (for some reason there are two others on mine), try each to see which is the higher resolution. The higher resolution will NOT show up until the scale is less than 10 miles (the scale is shown in the bottom right corner) - use your mouse wheel to change the scale if necessary. This is how I create a route - the process is not exactly intuitive and I never found a good how-to. I am sure that there are other ways to create a route. Click on the hand symbol in the toolbar (Pan) that’s just above the red arrow in the screenshot above.I find it extremely helpful to have a mouse with a scroll wheel. Then use a combination of your mouse wheel to zoom in and out and click and drag to reposition the map so that both the start and end points of your trip are on the screen. ![]() Click on the three connected green boxes (New Route) your mouse pointer will turn into a pencil. It does not matter if you can see the exact detail of the start and end point now. Now click near your starting point (it doesn’t have to be exact - just get close-ish), then click near your destination (again, just get near). Now zoom in on your starting point, using the mouse wheel and dragging the map (using Pan) as needed. You’ll have a straight pink line going from your approximate start to finish. Click on “Move Point” (three to the right of New Route). Go back to the start area, and now click on “Insert” (one to the left of Move). Click on the pink line, then click where the first waypoint (after the starting point) should be.Click on where you put your start point and drag it to the actual starting point, then release the mouse. You can click on Active Captain notes to read local knowledge or reviews of anchorages and marinas. If you need to move a waypoint, use Move Point and drag it to the correct position. You’ll notice that your route has a “name” that is just waypoint numbers, such as 701-710.As you hold your mouse over the route, a little box will appear with the route distance and a time estimate (this is only as accurate as your boat details that are entered in Utilities > Manage Boat Profiles in HomePort).Double and triple-check your route for hazards while zoomed in.There’s also an erase feature (looks like an eraser in the toolbar) - click it, then click on the waypoint you want to erase. This is absolutely horrible when you are trying to find the correct route on the chartplotter! In the route list on the left side of the screen, right-click on the route and then click on rename. Give your route a more descriptive name, keeping in mind how many characters your chartplotter will show (anything more than that will just be chopped off). ![]() When we did it the same day they were going to be eaten, with strawberries that were dried off after washing, they lasted for hours. They then will actually stick to fruit and dry relatively attached.ĭon’t do this too far in advance if you have moist fruit, though -trying to do it the night before we had them melt because the strawberries sweat too much. My husband discovered that if you wet your finger lightly and rub it gently on the back of the set googly eyes, you’ll feel them get sticky after a few seconds of rubbing. (An apple in the fruit basket, the pitcher of water…) We put them on strawberries and chains of grapes to make worms, and even decorated a few random things in the house with them. The paste IS thick, which is why they hardened so well into great little googly eyes. (I am sure that a real piping bag would have been the best.) I originally used a plastic bag with the corner cut to pipe little dots, but actually found I could take a small amount in my fingers, shape it lightly, and squish it down with the chocolate chip and that was easier than using the ziplock bag. The recipe was easy and turned out exactly as pictured. Wanted to say thanks again for this recipe now that I’ve used it! I made these for my son’s school Halloween Party, and they were AMAZING. Don’t want to use cornstarch either? Omit and sub in arrowroot powder. Again, you were warned. Don’t want to use it? Omit it but don’t yell at me if they aren’t as cute as mine. It helps with the texture and firmness of the eyes. Now let me answer your question as you review the recipe ingredients. ![]() And if you are someone who is trying to avoid animal products, how on earth are you supposed to eye-ball your cupcakes and cookies this holiday season? See the predicament! Eye got you covered (snickering…) The great thing about making your own homemade vegan googly eyes is that not only do you now have something to decorate your upcoming Halloween treats with but mainly because the goggly eyes sold in stores are actually made with gelatin. I kept asking them, “Are you looking at me? Are YOU looking at ME?” It never gets old… I’m telling you, as these googly eyes were setting for the past 24 hours, I kept walking past them and giggling with pure delight. I have been so excited to share with you this recipe. ![]() To decide between a brace, splint, or cast, we look at two things:Įven a major fracture in one of your middle toes can generally be immobilized by splinting it to the adjacent toes, for example. We've yet to test an all-wheel-drive Ariya, but the front-drive model's 238-hp motor adequately, though certainly not vigorously, pushes the Ariya around at city speed. Front-wheel drive is standard, though Nissan does offer the Ariya with an available dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. Blame the base model's smaller 63.0-kWh battery pack (usable capacity) compared to the 87.0-kWh pack (usable capacity) all other Ariya trims use. Opting for the entry-level Engage trim cuts $4000 from the Ariya's cost of entry, but nets a maximum EPA-rated range of just 216 miles. Although it's not the most exciting vehicle in its class, the Ariya is a stylish, spacious, and comfortable option that offers up to 304 miles of EPA-rated driving range in $48,485 Venture+ form. Nissan expands its battery-electric vehicle line with the addition of the Ariya SUV for 2023. For many consumers, that fact alone may be enough to eliminate the Kona Electric from their shopping list. More irksome is this electric SUV's limited availability, as Hyundai sells it in just about half of this country's states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington). That said, we do wish the Kona Electric offered optional all-wheel drive and a more spacious rear seating area. Electricity comes courtesy of a 64.0-kWh battery pack (gross capacity) that affords the $34,885 Kona Electric an EPA-rated driving range of 258 miles. Like its corporate cousin, the Kia Niro EV, the Kona Electric relies on a 201-hp front-mounted electric motor for motivation. Just about everything we appreciate about the gas-powered Hyundai Kona applies to its battery-electric counterpart, the Kona Electric. Nonetheless, if you're still interested in taking home an MX-30 of your own, then you better live in California, as it's the sole state where Mazda sells this electric SUV. Alas, it's not, as its starting sum of $35,385 is far higher than those of the Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV, both of which travel more than 200 miles on a full charge. We might overlook these traits of Mazda's lone electric vehicle if it were priced affordably. We clocked an 8.7-second run to 60 mph from the front-drive MX-30. ![]() Though a little city-sized electric SUV such as the MX-30 may not need to be particularly powerful, its front-mounted electric motor's 143 horsepower still leaves something to be desired. Look past its attractive interior and exterior styling and there's little else that's endearing about this small SUV that packs a paltry EPA-rated driving range of 100 miles (blame its 30.0-kWh battery pack). There's a reason the Mazda MX-30 takes the last spot on this list: it's not a great electric SUV option. ![]() Registration is required even to use the trial transcription. The enterprise subscription offers advanced training for its users.Sonix is recommended by many renowned organizations such as CNBC, Harvard University, Stanford University, ESPN, etc.The web tool gives optimum accuracy in conversions, and even offers lucrative discounts if you buy their Enterprise plan. The only time you ever actually hear him speak is during load screens when he verbally explains what’s coming up next. In a clever twist, these weren’t written by others when found, Artyom will write notes to himself in his journal, working around his silent posture and providing players with one of two ways you get insight from the protagonist himself. You can even see things from Artyom’s point of view in the form of journal entries strewn around the tale’s various chapters. You can spend a great deal of time listening to these conversations, building context for and understanding of the plight of the metro’s survivors, holding on to life by a mere string. Discovery also comes through conversation, and while Artyom is your typical silent protagonist, everyone around you has a great deal to say, even if they’re not talking directly to you. But there’s more in Last Light than just things to look at. Precious, too, is electricity, clean water, and breathable air, the latter of which becomes essential to gameplay as you constantly have to juggle gas masks and filters to scrub the atmosphere’s isotope-laden oxygen. Factory manufacturing is no more, large-scale agriculture is impossible, everything that already exists suddenly has a new, ingenious use, and just about anything you can hold in your hand – from an old postcard showing the colorful pre-war world to finely made bullets that act as currency – is precious. Some of the better locations successfully transport players to this fictional place and time in question. Exploring the various outposts and settlements you encounter conjures up tangible thoughts about what a post-apocalyptic situation would be like. The mood and atmosphere pad gametime with something more meaningful than loading screens and bad dialogue (though Last Light’s dialogue is littered with sometimes-abysmal Russian accents). The latter are what make Last Light truly shine, for it’s here that you get to experience the careful attention to detail that 4A Games has packed into its dystopian adventure. Last Light presents itself linearly, but it does a wonderful job of setting up plenty of context for your actions and goes to great lengths to make itself more than just another shooter as it alternates between missions that are action-packed and those that are slower and more deliberate. The political thread that connects everything – how surviving factions lucky just to be alive could still be at each other’s throats - makes the situation that much more interesting. Metro’s world is tangibly dangerous and rife with terror, with a feeling of risk and foreboding around virtually every corner. Artyom, along with his group of survivors - and innocent bystanders in general - find themselves caught with increasing frequency in the middle of warring factions in the metro, a situation made all the more dangerous and untenable by the mutated creatures that live both in the tunnels and on the surface. ![]() ![]() Play You’re cast as one of these survivors, a ranger named Artyom, the hero of Metro 2033 returned for another valiant adventure. ![]() Rinnai Energysaver 559Ft Natural Gas Heater +.īuy the Arctic White Rinnai Energysaver 561Ft Natural Gas Heater + Free Flue Kit K561FTN Thermostatic or Manual Rinnai Energysaver 559Ft Natural Gas Rinnai Energysaver 556FDT Power Flued Gas Heater Rinnai Gas Heater More info. Replaced in this existential context, the primacy of practice implies, first, that human beings encounter things as correlates of their practical possibilities and not as objective correlates of their inner representations. Patočka extends such analysis further and claims that the manifestation of all beings is correlative to the self-movement performed by the living being that each of us is. ![]() ![]() As we know from Sein und Zeit, such performances carry their own kind of understanding or sight, called “circumspection” by Heidegger, which grasps things in light of the work to be done, in the light of the project with which we identify ourselves. In other words, our cognitive capacities (judgment, intuition, representation and other propositional attitudes) are embedded in the competent performance of practical tasks. (Patočka 2016b: 190)Ģ Against Husserl’s appeal to the primacy of intuitive evidences, Patočka argues that our practical concern with things constitute a necessary background for understanding how it is possible for us to judge, to state, or to represent how things are. It is not the practical that should be understood on the basis of intuited presentations but, on the contrary, the attitude of disinterested contemplation whose genesis we should attempt to understand on the basis of the interested and engaged understanding proper to human being in its finite life. If the first encounter of “things ” is possible in principle only in the form of handling pragmata, it would seem inevitable that the problem of the phenomenon, the problem of appearing, will be profoundly affected by this fact. The primacy of practice and its link to the way the things manifest themselves is explicitly announced by Patočka in the following passage: Insofar as we accomplish the movement of our existence within the world – understood as an open field of possibilities –, its features unfold primarily as solicitations to actions. Not only Jan Patočka endorses Heidegger’s claim that things appear first and foremost as correlates of our concerns and practical involvements, but he invites us to reformulate the Husserlian question of appearing as such in terms of motion. ![]() 1 In my paper, I will ask how the primacy of practical over theoretical understanding in Jan Patočka’s philosophy transforms the traditional approach to the problem of phenomena. |
